South Australians living in remote areas will get access to psychologists and mental health nurses under a $327 million funding package for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will today announce the cash injection which will include $84.1 million in new money to support expanding dental services in remote areas and a new national mental health program.
As the RFDS celebrates its 90th birthday this year, Mr Turnbull said the four-year deal would ensure its unique and essential services were continued and extended.
Announcements included the RFDS establishing a Mental Health Outreach Clinic, with six operational sections of the service directly benefitting from funding, including the central operations branch in SA.
