Art opportunities for Copper Coast Youth

SOS Copper Coast and BankSA are partnering to offer a fun stencilling and street art workshop in Kadina for local youth on Wednesday January 23.

The program is open to local youth aged 12-25, with 20 positions available. It is offered via Bank SA’s Community Boost Program in collaboration with Headspace, and SOS Copper Coast Chairperson David Boots was very pleased to accept the offer of a workshop in the Copper Coast.

“One of the benefits we see coming from this is it gives youth access to new skills to boost confidence, and a bonus is the activity could potentially lead to more artwork on the outside of the youth centre,” Mr Boots said.

“All materials are free, the only thing you need to provide is some clothes you don’t mind getting messy in.”

The workshop will teach participants how to cut and spray paint multi-layered stencils using specialised cutting and spraying techniques to create layers, depth and detail.

Each participant will create their own stencil and artwork which is theirs to keep.

To book a place, email your name and phone number to soscoppercoast@gmail.com

A bus service will also run for up to 12 people in Wallaroo and Moonta.
